I’ve decided to produce some video content to better promote my work for those who don’t have time to read, and also answer questions. I may not be the smartest or most technically competent person around, but I can do research and point you in the right direction.
Also, I feel like YouTube deserves better Bitcoin content. There’s way too much trading, speculation, and shitcoin shilling going on and I’m not happy with the amount of informative videos. I feel like Andreas Antonopoulos does an excellent job, but there needs to be more people who recommend his work.
So here I am, presenting the information I’ve learned and trying to get it across my usual echo chamber. While I enjoy engaging on Twitter, it’s easy to forget that my followers are 90% Bitcoin maximalists. Not sure how well YouTube works, but it’s worth giving it a shot. If price predictions can score so many hits, I hope that some educational content will get some attention.
In parallel, I’ll also try to move my videos on Vimeo. It’s a safety net against YouTube’s recent censorship of Bitcoin content. If Tone Vays and BTC Sessions (briefly) had their accounts taken down, then my work is a lot more fragile. So I’ll do my best to protect my work and start a slow transition to Vimeo.
Bitcoin Takeover Weekly Q&A, baby!
So during this episode I’m talking about my latest article which debunks Bitcoin’s “slowness”. I’ve also picked up 3 questions from Twitter, and it turned out to be more than enough to cover 20+ minutes of talking. Might try to make the videos shorter for extra convenience, but it all depends on the feedback I receive.
Oh, and about the background music: it’s just a demo I’ve recorded on my phone when I got a new delay guitar pedal. I made up this riff, recorded it, and had no idea I’d end up using it for anything else. But I’m the creative type and everything finds its place in the end.
At this point I’m not sure when and how I will be posting these videos, but Saturdays and Sundays seem reasonable. Since I’m quarantined at home, it won’t be an issue to work for extended hours. If the situation gets better, then I might revise the policy or at least try to record more stuff in advance.
I don’t know, I try not to plan too much ahead so I won’t be disappointed in the results. I’ll figure out the schedule along the way, but for now just drop your questions and I’ll do my best to answer them.
Without further ado, here’s the video.
